Summer Rowing in Berlin July 2024

What? Rowing trip on the magnificent lake district of Mecklenburg close to Berlin.

When? From July 27th to July 30th

How did we row? around 25-30 km per day. Tents, sleeping bags, supplies and one bag per person fitted in our two boats. We were almost self sufficient for four days in the wild but also enjoyed a nice restaurant in Mirow. We used two official campsites with showers and toilets after the first „wild“ night.

Itinerary

First day: In the morning of the first day almost all of us met in the train from Berlin and met Andreas in Rheinsberg where we embarked with our fleet by late noon to cross the first lakes.

Second day: We crossed twelve lakes to reach the „Müritz“, the largest lake of Germany and camp at its sandy beaches. Unfortunately the wavy lake was too dangerous for our heavy loaded boats.

Third and fourth day: we used the same way back (green-yellow-red marked routes on the maps) and enjoyed alike the wildness and peacefulness of this magnificent landscape (except perhaps at some water locks 😉
